Clove-Infused Vaseline Recipe
Purpose
A simple clove-infused petroleum jelly commonly used for fragrance, warming sensation on skin, or as a traditional home preparation. This is not a medical treatment.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon petroleum jelly (Vaseline)
- 3–5 whole dried cloves or 1 drop clove essential oil
- Clean, heat-safe container with lid
Method 1: Using Whole Cloves (Gentler Option)
Step 1: Prepare
Lightly crush the cloves to release their natural oils.
Step 2: Infuse
Place the petroleum jelly and crushed cloves into a heat-safe container.
Set the container in a hot water bath (double-boiler style) and warm gently until the Vaseline melts. Do not boil.
Step 3: Steep
Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for 30–60 minutes so the clove essence infuses.
Step 4: Strain
Strain out the cloves using a clean cloth or fine strainer.
Step 5: Store
Allow to cool and solidify. Store sealed at room temperature.
Method 2: Using Clove Essential Oil (Stronger)
Step 1: Melt
Gently melt 1 tablespoon of petroleum jelly using a water bath.
Step 2: Add Oil
Remove from heat and add only 1 drop of clove essential oil. Stir thoroughly.
Step 3: Cool
Pour into a clean container and allow to cool before use.
